Mr. Damjan Kozarov, student of the Department of Accounting and Finance of the University of Western Macedonia achieved a great international distinction by participating in the video competition within the NATO 2030 Youth Summit. At an online awards ceremony held on Monday 9/11/2020 during the Youth Meeting, Mr. Kozarov was awarded by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg for his video on the water level of the Lake Prespa as a result of climate change and its consequences both to the ecosystem of the Lake Prespa and the local economy of the 3 sharing-border nations of the lake.
In drawing up its 2030 agenda, NATO has given a chance to young people (18-35 years old) of its member and partner countries to express their security and peace concerns and their future expectations.
Mr. Kozarov, a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the event thanked the Consulate General of Greece at Monastiri, among others, and especially the Consul, Mr. Achilleas Rakinas, for supporting his participation.
