On Thursday, 14 December 2023, at 6:00 p.m., the Jean Monnet Chair in Risk and Crisis Communication Management in the European Union welcomes Ms. Klimentini Diakomanoli in an online lecture on “Disinformation in the European Union: Responses in an Environment of Multiple Crises”.

Klementini Diakomanoli has been a European Commission executive since 2002 with a specialization in Press and Communication issues and extensive professional experience in the field of European news and journalism. Since 2021, she specializes in disinformation. She has served as a Press Office Director at the European Commission Delegations in Greece and Cyprus and as the Head of the two Delegations from time to time. From 1998, she served as a diplomat in Brussels, in the Permanent Greek Delegation to the EU, and at the Embassy of Greece in Belgium.
She is the author of the book “Fake News: What is Europe doing?” released in June 2021. Regular lecturer in the Master’s Programme “Institutions, Communication and European Integration” at the European Institute of Communication. She is a graduate of the School of Law of the Kapodistrian University of Athens and a former Lawyer of Athens. She is also a graduate of the first series of Press attachés of the National School of Public Administration. She has completed postgraduate studies in Criminal Law and Criminology in France and at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
