Οn the sidelines of the graduation ceremony of the Department of Agriculture, School of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Western Macedonia in Florina, a three-year memorandum of cooperation was signed between DELTA TROFIMA and the University of Western Macedonia in memory of the late Konstantinos Agios, who studied at the Department of Agriculture of the School of Agriculture Sciences and did his internship at the company’s factory in Sindos.
The collaboration initially concerns the years 2024, 2025, and 2026 and includes:
- A cash prize worth €5,000 will be awarded to the first, based on degree grade, graduate of the Department of Agriculture, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, University of Western Macedonia.
- 1 job position in DELTA for a graduate of the Department of Agriculture – Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Western Macedonia. The first 5 graduates, based on their highest degree score (completion within the 5-year period of the department’s undergraduate studies), will be evaluated by the company and one will be selected.
- 1 job position in DELTA for a graduate of the University of Western Macedonia (not in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences), taking into account income/social criteria and vulnerable groups.
- 1 two-month paid internship position in DELTA for students of the Department of Agriculture – School of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Western Macedonia who have completed the 7th semester and have enrolled in the 8th semester of their studies.
At the end of the three years, DELTA and the University will re-evaluate the possibility of continuing this cooperation.
On the sidelines of the agreement signing, DELTA’s Chief People & Culture Officer, Stavroula Kavoura, stated:
“This day is very important for us. We honor the memory of a member of the DELTA family and, at the same time, we support the new generation of the country. I want to thank the Rector and the people of the University from the bottom of my heart for the excellent cooperation, and I hope that we will find even more fields of joint action in the future“.
From his side, the Rector of the University of Western Macedonia, Prof. Theodoros Theodoulidis, stated:
“Today is a day of deep emotion, as the signing of the memorandum of cooperation between the University of Western Macedonia and the DELTA company is a tribute to the deceased student of the School of Agricultural Sciences of our university, Konstantinos Agios.
The scholarships granted by DELTA to our students create strong prospects for their future professional careers and keep the memory of Konstantinos alive within our university.”
