In accordance with its social policy and people-oriented approach, the University of Western Macedonia purchased and installed 10 Automated External Defibrillators in each of the cities it operates in.
More precisely, the defibrillators were placed:
- on campus in the city of Grevena,
- in the student residences, in Grevena
- on campus in the city of Kastoria,
- at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities in Florina,
- in the gym of the student residences of the “Efxinos Leschi” in Florina,
- in the Library of the School of Agriculture in Florina,
- on the Campus of ZEP in Kozani, in the Education Building Complex in the canteen area,
- on the campus of ZEP in Kozani, in the Administration building,
- on the campus of Kila in Kozani, next to the main entrance of the Amphitheater “SPYROS ARSENIS” and
- on the campus of Kila in Kozani, in the indoor gym, in the teachers’ office.
At the School of Health Sciences in Ptolemaida, a defibrillator had already been placed, thus there was no need for a new one to be installed. It should be noted that a series of First Aid seminars in cooperation with the National Emergency Aid Centre (EKAB) is currently taking place. Starting from the new year, groups will be formed on all campuses of the institutions to be trained in the use of defibrillators.
