Kick off meeting of the Digital Innovation Hub of Western Macedonia SYNERGiNN EDIH

On Thursday, 11th July 2024, the kick off meeting of the Digital Innovation Hub of Western Macedonia – SYNERGiNN EDIH took place at the premises of the New Campus of the University of Western Macedonia, in the ZEP area of Kozani. Its services focus on the digital transformation of small and medium enterprises and public sector entities aiming to optimize their digital maturity. There are seven such hubs operating in the country, each covering its own sector, from energy to health. SYNERGiNN EDIH’s services focus on two crucial sectors of the Greek economy, Energy and the Environment, in order to utilize the stock of knowledge and experience that has existed in the Region of Western Macedonia for decades.

The coordinator of the project is the University of Western Macedonia, with the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Professor Stergios Maropoulos as the Scientific Coordinator, while its corporate structure also includes a Research Center, two technology providers, three clusters, four industrial partners, a public regional organization and two chambers, all from the Region of Western Macedonia. SYNERGiNN EDIH members have experience in fields like smart grids, predictive maintenance, process optimization, energy management, Industry 4.0, circular economy, bioeconomy and smart city applications, while the services provided are based on the expertise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub, Big Data (BD), Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber ​​Security (CS).
