- Through a circular economy project, implemented by the company Principia in collaboration with the University of Western Macedonia and the Cluster of Bioeconomy & Environment of Western Macedonia (CluBE), the children of the Centre for Recovery, Rehabilitation and Day-Care for People with Disabilities “Kivotos”, in Kozani, acquired a new, original, wooden playground which was symbolically named “Kivotos” (“Ark”).
- For the construction of the playground, pallets and used wooden cable drums from a development project of Principia in Kozani were reused.
The company Principia completed a new project in collaboration with the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, employing the principles and practices of circular economy, aiming to educate and empower the children, but also to enhance the recreational infrastructure of the Centre for Recovery, Rehabilitation and Day-Care for People with Disabilities “Kivotos”, in Kozani that operates since 2000. The “Creating an Ark” project was funded by the company, with the scientific support of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts of the University of Western Macedonia and the contribution of the Cluster of Bioeconomy & Environment of Western Macedonia (CluBE).
Through the Project, the artistic skills of the children hosted at the Center were developed, the wider community’s perception of the value of reusing materials and the circular economy was strengthened, and the connection between the local community and the University of Western Macedonia was further cultivated, through the internship of 35 students who worked in the different stages of the construction of “Kivotos”.
