Student ID Card
Once you have enrolled, apply for a Student ID Card at http://academicid.minedu.gov.gr/ . Student ID Cards are valid for the entire duration of studies and offer proof of identity and access to various facilities and benefits, including public transport discounts (valid forn + 4semesters), according to relevant regulations.
Student ID Cards are returned to the Department Administration Office before graduation or in case of suspension of studies. No benefits are granted to students registered as successful candidates of placement qualifying exams (Higher Education graduates).
Food and Accommodation
To support students with financial problems, the University of Western Macedonia caters for food and accommodation services (pursuant to ministerial decrees and the University Senate decisions):
Ask for information about Food and Accommodation at the Administration Office.
Accommodation
Free accommodation in the Hall of Residence (on campus), or rent benefits, under specific eligibility criteria.
Free meals
Free meals (to eligible students) in University restaurants (on campus, and at 20, Konstantinoupoleos str.- Kozani, tel. 0030 24611 81039).
Health Care
All students (undergraduate, postgraduate, international) are entitled to health and medical care throughout their studies in their local area or -only in exceptional cases- in other areas, as well.
In case you are entitled to additional health coverage, but have also applied for a student healthcare plan, submit a solemn statement (Law 1599/86) to disclaim other health insurance plans.
Additional information on healthcare is included in the healthcare booklet you are given when you enroll at the Administration Office.

Higher Education admissions in Greece are subject to legislation.

Academic Calendar
The University Council draws up the Academic Calendar which includes:
- winter and spring semester duration,
- winter, spring semester and September exams,
- Christmas, Easter, other holidays
Study Advisor
Study advisors, who are members of the academic staff in each department, provide information, support, and assistance.
